The increasing monthly production capacity of Covishield is projected to be 120 million and Covaxin to be 58 million doses

Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya reported that the current production of Covaxin and Covishield in the country was increasing forward from August to December 2021. 

 The monthly manufacturing capacity of  Covishield is expected to be increased to more than 120 million doses and of Covaxin to be 58 million doses by December.

The production capacity of the Covishield vaccine increased from 110 million doses to more than 120 million doses per month and Covaxin is projected to be increased from 25 million doses per month to around 58 million doses per month.  

Covaxin production was transferred to COVID Vaccine Consortium (GCVC), including OmniBRx Biotechnologies and Hester Biosciences led by Gujarat Biotechnology Research Centre (GBRC) of the Department of Science and Technology.
